Privacy policy

Roda (the website at roda.com.my and the Roda app) is run by Avia AI Sdn. Bhd., 1st Floor, TB12680, Block A, Jade Industrial Park, Batu 3½, Jalan Apas, 91000 Tawau, Sabah. We are the data user responsible for your personal data under the PDPA. This notice applies when you visit Roda, create an account, post an ad or contact us.

• Account: name, email, phone number and password, and anything you add to your profile, such as username, photo, banner, state, city, postcode, address, gender, date of birth, bio and website.
• Business accounts: business name and address, SSM registration, authorised brands, and franchise or brand letters.
• Ads and events: the text, photos, price, vehicle details (which can include a registration or plate number) and location you post.
• Messages: chats between you and other users on Roda.
• Use of Roda: ads and pages you view, searches, saved ads, taps on Chat, WhatsApp or Call, your browser and device type, and a random visitor ID.
• When you contact us: what you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.

• To create and run your account and log you in.
• To publish your ads and business page and connect buyers with sellers.
• To review ads and business details, prevent fraud and spam, and keep Roda safe.
• To show relevant ads and recommendations, and to give sellers statistics about their ads, such as views and enquiries.
• To send service emails, such as password resets, and to answer your questions.
• To improve Roda and to meet our legal obligations.

Your ads are public. Buyers see the ad, your name or business name, the location you give and the contact options on the ad, including your phone number for WhatsApp and calls. Your seller or business page shows your public profile details and your ads. Don’t put details in an ad that you don’t want to share.

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• other users, as described above, when you post or chat;
• service providers that host Roda, store photos and send emails for us, under contract;
• advertising partners such as Google, when ads are shown on Roda (see cookies below);
• the police, JPJ, courts or other authorities when the law requires it or to protect users from fraud;
• a buyer of our business, if Roda is sold or merged.

Some of these providers store data outside Malaysia. We transfer personal data abroad only as the PDPA allows.

• Login cookie (__session): keeps you logged in for up to 7 days. Needed to log in.
• Visitor ID (roda_visitor_id, kept for up to 1 year): a random ID to count visits, measure how features work and improve recommendations.
• Browser storage: your recent searches and the last tab you used on the home page, kept on your device.
• Advertising cookies: when Google ads are shown, Google may use cookies to show and measure ads. You can manage them in your Google ad settings.
• Embedded videos: some ads and posts in Latest show a seller’s TikTok, Facebook or YouTube video. When the video plays or scrolls into view, that platform’s player loads and the platform may set its own cookies under its privacy policy. On a data-saver connection, videos only load when you tap Play.

We keep your data while your account is open and for as long as we need it for the purposes above. When you delete an ad or we close your account, it is removed from public view. We may keep some records longer to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or meet legal requirements, and then delete or anonymise them.

We take practical steps to protect your personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, so keep your password private and tell us if you think your account has been misused.

• Access and correction: you can ask for a copy of your personal data and ask us to correct it. You can edit most details yourself in Profile and My ads.
• Withdraw consent or limit use: you can ask us to stop using your data for a purpose, or to close your account.
• Required details: fields marked as required are needed to create an account or post an ad. Without them we can’t provide that feature. Other fields are optional.

Send requests from the email address on your account to info@roda.com.my. We may need to confirm your identity, and we reply within the time the PDPA sets.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you on Roda or by email.
